ABUSE

  Could be sexual, relationship, work related. If experiencing abuse for safe guarding is always important to report and get help from your local authority as a first step.

 

  Counselling would be a second step process to talk in a Safe space. Here we can explore coping skills to work at your pace on healing.

ADDICTION ISSUES

  Addition can cause a wide range of serious complications, many can be life-limiting and potentially dangerous.

 

  By engaging in a harm reduction technique through direction and counselling at Country Of Hope there is a great chance to reduce your usage of Drugs/Alcohol - to improve your quality of life.

ADHD
(attention deficit hyper activity disorder)

Here I will use a talking therapy combined with mindfulness and CBT as it can help with symptoms through coping skills.

E.g. to reduce anxiety, restfulness, trouble concentrating, acting impulsively.

ANGER MANAGEMENT

  We are talking about reducing anger. Exploring where the anger has or is originating from.

 

  When your feeling anger we work with Mindfulness so you can implement this in your life style and to reduce anger outbursts when situations arise.


 

ANXIETY ISSUES

Generalised Anxiety Disorder

( G.A.D) is a long term anxiety, it is more persistent worry. Whereas 'anxiety' is normally a one-off and can be temporary to which everyone has at some stage in their life. Can leave you feeling anxious about a lot of different issues.

 

  Depending on where the anxiety comes from we can apply Talking Therapy, SandPlay, Exposure Therapy or CBT subject to needs. Our counselling can have a positive impact by exploring education and providing breathing techniques to help your journey to heal.

ATTACHMENT DISORDER

  These come from early childhood. It explores your primary care givers roll in your life, focusing on early relationships and linking these to current life as an adult.  At Country of Hope our counselling builds trust, give space to talk about passed experiences.

BEHAVIOUR ISSUES

Causes by several factors:-

 

  Life experiences, unresolved childhood traumas and present day situations.

 

  These can lead to anxiety, depression, OCD, behavioural addictions such as gambling, alcohol/drugs dependency or other negative behavioural coping mechanisms

BEREAVEMENT

  Leads to feeling of grief and loss. No time limit on such personal experiences as there is no time on moving on.
 

  Grief is a process that we learn to live with every day. What to do you do for Grief Self Care? You don't think of yourself when some one else has passed.

BiPOLAR

Its not a label. It is a mood disorder which causes you to experience mood swings including bouts of anxiety and depression. You could have feelings of very high and low to the point it is a euphoria high and a manic low.

BORDERLINE PERSONALITY

BULLYING

Affects how you THINK, FEEL and INTERACT with others. We can use talking therapies to explore your emotions and how they affect the body to be able to change or/and cope better.

Work-place can cause stress and ill health leading to absentees from work. Includes college or university environments. Talking Therapy can provide a release for your feelings to be validated and explore how you move on from such situations.

CONTROL DISORDERS

These are a group of disorders that are linked by varying difficulties in controlling aggressive behaviours, self-control, and impulses. Typically, the resulting behaviours or actions are considered a threat primarily to others’ safety and/or to societal norms. Country of Hope Counselling can provide a way to psycho-educate you around these disorders.

DEPRESSION

Have you had a Low mood for weeks or months that is on-going? Is it persistent? Can share that it is a mood disorder and we can look at your life style and how it is affecting your depression. Working on passed or present issues to provide a solution for positive change.

DISSOCIATION

This is when you feel a disconnect from the world. It is a brain response to trauma. So this can manifest to staring or zoning out. You may feel you are looking at yourself and the surroundings don't feel real. At Country of Hope we can look at the trauma, provide grounding techniques to assist with a positive way to cope for a better or improved lifestyle in your future

DRUG ADDICTION

Is your drug use worrying you and interfering with your well being or life. At Country of Hope we Can offer to use a tailored plan with harm reduction technique and support.

FEELING SAD

You can be feeling sad from a recent bereavement, loss of relationship or employment. Counselling provides a space to validate your feelings and to bring comfort in a supportive and confidential environment.

GENERALISED ANXIETY DISORDER (GAD)

 

  Everybody is different. You may have heart palpitations, or feel restless, tired or even find it difficult in concentrating. At first like to discover/learn where anxiety is coming from and cycle educate to normalise feeling anxious.
 

  It is tailored sessions to each individual which may include cognitive restructuring, behavioural techniques, problem solving or exposure based therapy is one of the techniques to alleviate or reduce some of your symptoms of anxiety.

IMPULSE SUICIDAL IDEATION

Have you experienced the feeling or had suicidal thoughts. The thoughts may come and go. You could even be engaging in risky behaviour leaving yourself vulnerable. It is important to talk about it. Your first contact would be the emergency services or GP. Country of Hope Integrative counselling then provides a safe trusted space where you can talk about issues past or present

LONELINESS

This can stem from life experiences which can affect your metal health. We would be focused on a talking therapy looking at social connections, strengthening current relationships and making your self care a priority.

LOW SELF CONFIDENCE

  With this you can negative narrative about yourself. Amongst these are quite common ones such as fear of failure, people pleasing, lack of boundries, difficult accepting compliments, feeling of worthlessness to name a few. 

 

  CBT will be used combined with an agreed plan to record thoughts and discuss in order to reframe these negative thought processes to lead to a more balanced outcome.

LOW SELF ESTEEM

  This comes under 'low self confidence'. Couple of examples are you believe your not good enough, avoiding situations, low confidence and abilities. 

 

  A CBT approach will be applied to identify any negative patterns, or any underlaying issues. Working with CBT from an Integrative counsellor will help to build self compassion and to learn to love yourself.

MENTAL HEALTH

Is an umbrella term for mood disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders. All the therapies offered at Country of Hope are available and are utilised to improve your mental health and well being. Counselling helps you understand problems you may be experiencing and equips you with skills and knowledge for you to become self aware. Commitment to sessions can improve your quality of life.

PANIC ATTACKS

  Panic attacks can come from a variety of things such as intense fear, feeling of doom or triggers from previous trauma. So can be a person, place, object or memory. At Country of Hope we can tap into SandPlay, or CBT to help process unresolved trauma. 

 

  This will help to realise your triggers, psycho educate to cope when these sensations or triggers take place. The benefits are to notice the triggers which will reduce impact and provide a coping strategy leading to self awareness and education on what your body is experiencing.

PERSONALITY DISORDERS

  Borderline personality disorder is normally called BPD. Emotionally unstable personality disorder referred to as EUPD. Narcissistic personality disorder. Obsessive compulsive personality disorder called OCPD.

SELF HARMING

  If you are currently experiencing 'self harm' your first contact is your emergency services or your GP. What counselling can do is provide a safe space to explore the reasons. To also learn from relapses. To develop a safety plan and become self aware of your triggers.

SLEEP/ONSOMIA

  They both go together. It is like developing a bed-time routine, which we call 'sleep hygiene'. Surprisingly people don't know this but electronic devices like mobile phones and TV actually keep us more awake, more alert leading to difficult sleeping patterns.

  

  It lights up your neural pathways in the brain. We would be working together to put in place a sleep record and plan taking into account to look at anything else that is disturbing the sleep pattern such as stress 

STRESS

  Can be caused by worry, emotional strain or mental tensions coming from a variety of situations. It is a natural human response.

 

  But stress can lead to high blood pressure, obesity, stroke, diabetes. It is all do with all our cortisol levels.

 

  Counselling provides a safe space to talk and reflect on where your stress is coming from. Even simply having a discussion about stress people feel lighter. Benefits include a more positive outlook and reducing further health issues.

SELF ESTEEM

Is like people pleasing E.g. I am not good enough or I want to be 'in the crowd'. It is similar to 'self worth' and 'lack of confidence'. Working together to provide a plan for strategies to cope with negative thoughts, SMART skill setting to work on achievable goals and to make self care a priority.

TRAUMA

Everyone can experience trauma which can be a distressing or disturbance experience. Here at Country of Hope please feel safe and reassured that any trauma is dealt with an experienced Integrative Counsellor to help you cope with the aftermath and manage symptoms in order to feel safe again and to promote your wellbeing.
